Le Plongeur

This French submarine - the first to have power other than man-power was the inspiration behind the classic story by Jules Verne when he saw it on display. It's interesting to note that Jules Verne's novel accurately foretells of the submarine's potence to conventional shipping predating the U-boat campaign of World War One.

This submarine was designed as the North's answer to the Hunley and others though it does not seem to have been that successful and was surrounded by litigation. Wiki here

Fenian Ram

Carrying on the theme of old subs this is a strange one as one could argue it was intended for terrorist use. Designed by John Philip Holland and launched in 1881 in order for it to be used by the Fenian Brotherhood against the British. Read more on the Wiki. It was armed with a pneumatic gun.

Bayou St John Mystery Submarine

Wiki here. An unidentified submarine was found in the late 19th century and put on display wrongly identified for a long time as the Pioneer - a Confederate submarine scuttled before the approaching Union forces but which apparently was sold for scrap metal for $45. The Hunley (1997) trailer

I'm not sure if this would be in my top ten ACW movies because I've only seen it once but it was pretty interesting...the story of a Confederate submarine the Hunley and what happened to the crew.
