French infantry equipment





Not sure of the date of these photos - source says 1852-70 but it looks roughly Crimean.

    Those are taken from the illustrated catalogue of Messrs Alexis Godelot. Whilst the backpack 1854 pattern on the upper picture is correct for the Crimean, the shako in the lower picture is the 1860 leather universal pattern shako which was, obviously, not worn in the Crimea.
