The other week I was bemoaning the lack of mitrailleuse film on Youtube and now someone has done this great animation of how it worked.

    Thank you for the link. I commented on the Youtube site. I thought the rear crank fired the machine but the video cleared that up.

    Wow, fully acknowledging hindsight, what an utterly ham-fisted way of making a machine gun. Great video though thanks for posting the link.
