It's about time! No other general, North or South, accepted the surrender of 3 enemy armies. For a good, solid read, find a copy of J.F.C. Fuller's "Grant and Lee" (some editions may have had a slightly different title). Fuller began his research with the idea that Lee was the ultimate military genius, and that Grant was at most a mindless butcher with unlimited resources at his disposal. Fuller wound up essentially reversing his appraisal.
