Far from the Madding Crowd (1998)

 My wife and I have been watching this Thomas Hardy classic. Originally on ITV. The character Sergeant Troy is in the 11th Dragoon Guards and occasionally wears an outrageous type of headgear. Not sure when it is set but found a similar outfit. See below.
