Barnbow Canaries

 My sister Anne found this photo and did the research. It is my grandmother Elsie. She is back row third from the right. She lived in Castleford Yorkshire. She worked in the Barnbow munitions factory which was huge and employed thousands. There was a terrible loss of life at an accident there. Known as 'Barnbow lasses' or Canaries because of the yellow complexion caused by the chemicals.
