The Alma 1854

Production still from the 68 movie by Douglas Kirkland

  1. The movie started to fall apart for me when they got to the Crimea. Extras without cartridge boxes or bayonet scabbards. Card board looking uniforms. Very little of the French or the Turks although there are hints of them that may have been cut out like the Charge of the Heavies and the Thin Red line action. The Alma scene had regiments the size of companies and you could see the regimental Colours already fading and the colours running from poor quality. Too bad that movie was made before CGI.

Off topic but I didn't like what was done to Fanny Duberly in the film.
