Sächsische infantry 1866

I am a little confused as to what the standard line infantry in the Saxon army wore in 1866. The uniforms below are more specialist. Anyone know?
Maybe I ought to buy this book.

  1. Hi Ralph,

the guy with the yellow facings is the ordinary Saxon infantrymen. I never bought anything from Uniformology as what I have seen wasn't in a good quality. But as these paintings here are unknown gto me, maybe I should give it a try too. In case you buy it, please let us know how good they are.

    cheers

Nice blog! Lots of interesting entries on the Six Weeks War, thank you for those.
Are you still looking for information on the Saxons?
