Been trying to find out what the weapon of these Hanoverians was and it seems it was a 'pickelgewehr 1853' - some sort of Minie rifle but I can find no photos.There is a German language account of the battle of Langensalza in this book (in full) Der deutsche Krieg in Jahre 1866
Good thing the Hanoverians had different head gear from the Prussians. Tough to tell the difference from a distance. Thanks for posting these obscure (to me) items. It's like going down a small road and finding something "cool."
