Formerly commanding the Zouaves'. I am not sure if this is the same man as below - but it certainly is a fine portrait by Cadogan.

    Yes that is a portrait of J J G Cler (1814-1859) the second Colonel of the 2eme Zouaves and writer of "Souvenirs". Cadogan also does a pencil sketch of him. Its a good likeness going by Cartes de Visite.
