Photo of German infantry attacking a British line of "scrapes," 1914. Mons wikiI have been thinking about the campaigns of 1914 which are pretty interesting - my Grandfather was in the Coldstream Guards in 14/15 but I don't know much about his experiences - later on he transferred to the Royal Engineers fighting in the underground war. This photo is new to me and shows a unique view of the battle.
