The Diehards Crimean page

The Diehards are one of the UK's most celebrated living history associations - they recreate the Victorian soldier through a number of eras - this page is for their excellent Crimean project.

If you want to see a film of the Diehards recreating the Zulu war go here

  1. Nice looking group. The way they wear their haversack and canteen makes me question if they are copying the old photos. Those two items full, bounce and hit the sides if worn too low and interfere with getting to the cartridge box if worn on the right side. The photo below shot in the Crimea looks like the canteen was put on the right for "show." I have seen really nice 54mm toy figures that were spoiled because the little men could not get at their cartridges because they were copied from posed photos.
