Fenton's Zouave Vivandière

French camp follower in the Crimea by Roger Fenton. I wonder if anyone knows her name. Fascinating picture.

    Both photographs by Roger Fenton are posed. This lady is the Cantiniere to the 3eme Zouaves and it is the lady in each photograph and she is wearing her "sunday best", as is the wounded Zouave from the Imperial Guard (white Turban as opposed to Green of the Line) who is in full dress (hence the turban).

    There was a tailor in the French camp at Kamiesch who made his living from selling underwear and stays to the Cantinieres.
