We Don't Want To Lose You & I'll Make A Man Of You - Oh! What A Lovely War - Studio Soundtrack

'We don't want to lose you but we think you ought to go' Vesta Tilley - a song mentioned in the above book as being performed at a Music Hall 1914.

Vesta Tilley - Wikipedia By the time the First World War began, Tilley's career was slowing down and the changing situation provided a chance for it to develop further. She and her husband ran military recruitment drives and she sang at charity events.[6] Tilley dressed in khaki fatigues and performed numbers written by her husband such as "Jolly Good Luck to the Girl Who Loves a Soldier", "The Army of Today's All Right", "Six Days' Leave", and "Your King and Country Want You" (also known as "We Don't Want to Lose You but We Think You Ought to Go").[7] She was nicknamed "England’s greatest recruiting sergeant" since young men were sometimes asked to join the army during her show.[17][13] Over the course of a week in Hackney, she enlisted so many people they became known as "The Vesta Tilley Platoon".[16]

Gettysburg 1863 Official First Look

Gettysburg 1863, written and directed by Bo Brinkman, is an intimate Civil War drama that brings the Battle of Gettysburg and its aftermath to life through the experiences of civilians caught in the crossfire. When a young man leaves Gettysburg to join the cavalry, he believes the war will remain far from home. Instead, in the summer of 1863, Confederate forces invade the town, placing the woman he loves and her family in grave danger. As Gettysburg’s community binds together amid loss and hardship, families cling to faith, compassion, and one another, while the soldier faces his own struggle to survive far from home. Told through parallel journeys, Gettysburg 1863 is a story of love tested by war, moral courage in the face of injustice, and the power of hope and joy even in the darkest of times.

Starring Eric Nelsen, Hannah Galway, Shannon Lucio, Emma Halleen, Kayla Anjali, Samuel Roukin, Stephen Lang, Bruce Boxleitner, and Alonso Freeman. Coming November 2026. Gettysburg 1863 is presented by the Dobbin House Tavern with support from Gettysburg History and the Gettysburg Film Commission. For more information about the movie, visit www.Gettysburg1863.com.

Video games of WW1

List of World War I video games - Wikipedia

When my wife's father got a pc back in the day we used to play on a WW1 air combat game. Was really good. Occasionally have an idea to play Dogfights of WW1. Do any of you recommend anything?
